一、教材分析
本课时的中心话题是“transportation”,它与学生的日常生活紧密联系在一起的,因为生活中离不开“行”,因此本课时就是学习描述人们日常出行方式,学习一般现在时。The first period:听说为主,感受语言,通过听和看图来确定或描述人物的出行方式,重点掌握和熟练应用 How do you get to school? How does he get to school? 及其答语等句型。在教学中,突出交际性,将语法教学融入平常的交际活动中,让学生通过参与课堂活动来学习、归纳以及巩固一般现在时这一语法功能;注重启发性,并进行情感策略的调整,以形成积极的学习态度,促进学生语言运用能力的提高.
二、教学目标
知识技能
1.掌握有关交通的词汇,如take the subway/train, ride the bicycle, by bus/boat, transportation以及其他一些词汇。
2.掌握由how引导的特殊疑问句,表示乘坐何种交通工具的方式.How do you get to school? I ride my bike.
情感态度
通过教学任务的完成,使学生牢固掌握谈论交通工具的表达方法,使学生将所学知识与实际生活紧密联系,学会应用英语表达思想感情,学会合作学习,探究学习。
1.学会人际交往,形成综合运用英语的能力。
2.学会谈论交通工具,并合理选用交通工具。
3.学会设计实践调查报告中的问题,并提出解决问题的简单方案.
三、教学重点、难点
1.学习并掌握how 引导的特殊疑问句.
2.掌握乘坐交通工具的表示方法.如take the subway, by bus等.
掌握相应的句型,如How do you get to school?等.
3.分层次地学会下列单词:
take(搭乘、花费) walk train bicycle boat car by stop station
四、教学方法与学习策略
教学方法
1.情景交际法:本单元话题源自生活,立足这一点,充分利用学生已有的知识和经验,创设生活化的真实情境,引导学生在运用中学习语言,然后在学习新的语言知识后创造性地运用语言(为用而学,在用中学,学了能用)。
2.任务型语言教学法:设计多种任务活动,提供给学生合作交流的空间和时间,促使学生为完成任务和同学进行合作,为完成任务进行探究学习。
3.开放性教学策略:教师要开放性地处理教材,结合教材插入学生感兴趣的图片、电影片段等,丰富学生知识,拓宽他们视野,实现知识的整合。
学习策略
1.自主学习:要求学生采用自主学习的方式,能根据需要进行有目的预习,使其对教师的教学内容起补充作用。
2.合作学习:在与同学合作完成任务的活动中形成合作学习和探究学习的学习方式,引导学生积极思考,善于抓住英语交流的机会。在活动中相互探讨、相互交流、相互合作,从而获得知识、技能和情感体验,发展他们的能力。

Key vocabulary: walk, subway, take the subway, train, take the train, ride a bike, take the bus, take a taxi, go in a parent’s car.
III.Teaching Difficulties
1、The differences are among the words “get to,arrive at/in,reach”.
2、The differences are between “subway” and “underground”.
3、Target language :
Hey,Dave. How do you get to school?
I walk.How about you ,Sally?
I ride my bike.
How does Bob get to school?
He takes the train.
IV. Teaching Methods:
Listening and writing methods; Pairwork; Guessing game.
V. Teaching Aids :
A tape recorder; Some pictures.
VI. Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Greeting and Lead-in.
Greet the whole class as usual.
(Show the pictures. A house is on one side of the board and a school is on the other side.) Teach the two buildings home and school.
Use finger to trace a path from the house to the school. Ask students, How do you get to school? Do you walk? Do you ride a bicycle?
(For example, if you ask, How do you get to school? and a student replies, Bike, say , Oh , you ride your bike. Class, repeat. I ride my bike.( The class repeat.)
Say, Today we’re talking about how you go from one place to another.

Step 2 Presentation

1.通过图片并谈论外出活动来引出不同的交通工具的单词和词组:

T:Tomorrow is Christmas. And the New Year is coming. Where are you going on vacation?
S:I am going to...
T:How do you get there?
What other transportations do people use?

2. Guessing game: (进一步学习交通工具)
T:What kind of transportation is it?
—You can take it to see the beautiful sea.

—It is like a train but goes under the ground.
—A subway.  


                         


—It takes you about three hours to go to Beijing from Shenzhen by it. 
—A plane. 


 
            
—It is very long and it goes on land.
—A train.   


 
      
通过有趣的猜词活动,让学生在热闹的课堂气氛中学会并掌握新单词。

Step 3 Consolidation
Show the pictures of film or sing stars and get to guess how they get to work.
T: How does Yao Ming / Liu Yifei / Zhou Jielun...get to work?
S1: Yao Ming rides the bike to work every day.
S2: He goes to work by bike.
S3: Liu Yifei takes the car to work.
S4: Liu Yifei gets to work by car.
Get the students to ask and answer in pairs by using the pictures below.
How do people go to work? And then finish Activity 1a.

通过给学生展示喜闻乐见的明星图片,激发学生猜的兴趣,从而无形的让学生将所学的知识脱口而出,不但操练了句型和词汇,也增加学生的语言熟练程度,同时浓厚了课堂的气氛。


Step 4 Listening
First point out the names of the students in the box. Ask one student to read the names. Now listen to the conversation. Please write the number of the name in the white box next to the student. One of them has already been done. Listen to the tape and finish1b.
Bob takes the train.
Mary takes the subway.
Paul walks.
Yang Lan walks.
John takes the bus.
Lead the students repeat the recording and learn the target language.
Vehicles: bike, bus, train, subway (underground), plane, boat, ship, taxi
Use vehicles:
Prepositional phrases-----by bike, by bus, by train, by subway, by plane
  Verb phrases------ ride the bike, take the bus, take the train, take the subway, take the plane, take the taxi(“a” can instead “the”)
             ------ ride/walk/drive/fly to somewhere
If you don’t use vehicles you can say “on foot (prepositional phrase)”or “walk”
Teach:How do you get to school ?---- I walk to school.
                               I get to school on foot.
      How does he get to school?---- He gets to school by bus.
                                He takes the bus to school.
      How does Bob go to school?---- He goes to school by bike.
                                 He rides the bike to school.
  Explain the underlined parts. Especially
1. the different uses of “take”.
     2. the difference between “on foot” and “walk”.
     3. the difference between by bus and take the bus.
4. the difference between by bike and ride the bike.
在初步练习的基础上,通过听力引导出重点句型,让学生易于接受,并详细讲解了动词词组与介词词组使用的不同,对书本知识进行了拓展。

Step 5 Pairwork.
Ask two students to read the dialogue in the box to the class.
A: How does Bob get to school?
B: He takes the train.
Now work with a partner. Make your own conversations about how the people in the picture get to school.
Then ask students to work in pairs. Ask and answer how students get to school in the picture. (Present their conversations to the class.)
As they talk , move around the room, offering language or pronunciation support as needed.
让学生脱离课本,用所学的新词汇和句型操练对话,真正达到了英语教学的目的----学以致用。

Step 6 Summary
This class we’ve learnt some key vocabulary and the target language. How do you (does he) get to school?


Step 7 Homework
1. Make a survey: How do your friends /parents go to school / work? How long does it take?
 2. Finish off the exercises on the small blackboard.

教学感悟与反思
本节课词汇较多,但由于词汇均涉及学生的生活实际,而且在课堂中,我采用图文并貌,突出真实性,同时,我在教学中采用了任务型教学,设计了有层次和一定梯度且有启发性的问题,让他们在富有情趣的交际中愉快地主动地接受信息、加工信息、交流信息,而且和谐、融洽的课堂气氛,有利于激发他们的学习兴趣,在有兴趣的前提下是他们的想象力得到了充分发挥,他们把学习变成了自己主动、渴望的一种行为。因此本课的教学目标在愉悦的课堂气氛中得到落实和巩固。
